About Donna Eick

Donna EickDonna Eick has a saying: "Life is like a buffet one bite at a time."

Originally from Middleport NY, she has been in the catering business for over twenty-five years and has established a reputation for delicious dishes prepared from the highest quality fresh food.

Long story short: Donna grew up around food. Her mother and father, Don and Elsa Fink, operated a restaurant, Fink's, in Gasport and later in Middleport. In 1983, she was asked to help her parents cater the wedding receptions of a brother and sister-in-law. This gave her a taste for catering - and the rest, as they say, is history.

Donna is famous for her Broccoli Salad and a signature (secret) sauce. She calls herself a "creative foodie." She doesn't use written recipes and can unlock the secrets of a recipe simply by tasting it. All Donna's dishes are made from scratch. Her recipes are a combination of healthy, high quality ingredients, inspiration from her family and friends, and 'divine guidance." No wonder she's one-of-a-kind!

Donna newest creative adventure, The Flavorful Palette, opened in September 2009 at 247 Market Street (on the first floor of the Market Street Art Center building complex) in Lockport's Lowertown section. The restaurant serves lunches, including homemade soups, panini, salads and other specialties. And, of course, her Broccoli Salad!

The chairs of Donna's new restaurant were painted by art students from Barker Central. Lockport Mayor Michael Tucker joins Donna and the students in welcoming the new restaurant.
